exploring germany

As promised, since we already toured the Bavrian Alps in the summer – I am going to take you on a mini exploration of the Bavarian Alps in the winter. We were blessed to spend a week there earlier this year during my husband’s R&R while serving on his 5th year long combat deployment. This time was such a blessing as our Prince Charming also was able to celebrate his 5th birthday in the Alps and even more special than that – with his daddy.

We enjoyed some sledding, a horse and carriage ride, and some hiking in the snow. We had a beautiful view from our room and celebrated our son’s 5th birthday in the hotel. We also had a great time at the outside hot tub as the snow was falling so beautifully upon us. It was a very fun – and necessary time – of family bonding. In case you missed my post about the Bavarian Alps in the summer – you can refer back to it for a little bit of history about the Garmisch-Partenkirchen area. Here is our adventure in photos!

This was the view off of one of our balconies at the resort! So beautiful to wake up to!

These were some photos we took as we were hiking and sledding one afternoon at the base of the mountain. Below is a short video clip of us in the van on our way to the site…

Bavarian Alps in the winter

This breathtaking view is what we woke up to for the week we spent in the Bavarian Alps this past winter. God’s beauty at it’s finest!

LAST but NOT LEAST: a video clip of our precious Prince Charming celebrating his 5th Birthday in the Bavarian Alps!
